Tater Farms
is a family-owned and operated business that was started in the mid-1970s by Frank and Polly Johns. Originally harvesting Potatoes and Cabbage but has since phased those out.
In 2004, Tater Farms planted their first crop of turfgrass. Since then, Sod has become the main crop over the years and has grown to over 4,000 acres of improved grasses. We grow several different varieties of turfgrass
allowing for the right product for your project.
Most recently Tater Farms has ventured into Citrus production and will soon be harvesting those crops. Polly has kept the farming tradition going strong after Frank passed away in 2014. Eric Hjort came to work for Tater Farms in 2006 as General Manager to help with the emerging turfgrass operations and the transition of generations on the family farm.
